Philip Rubio says the U.S. Postal Service is threatened by major cuts or even closure
He says the post office represents people and places we rely on; moreover, the cuts will have a huge effect in the United States
He says it's a major employer, innovator and fulcrum of a national communications system
Rubio: Congress must assume responsibilty for finding a way for postal service to stay afloat
